Brian Ganson is Professor at the Stellenbosch Business School. There he heads the Centre on Conflict & Collaboration, a hub for research and reflection at the nexus of the private sector, conflict, and development. Brian engages with human rights defenders, community advocates, governments, international actors, and companies as a researcher, advisor, educator, and mediator. Concurrently a Research Professor at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and a Professor in the Stellenbosch University School for Data Science, he co-leads the Business & Conflict Research Initiative (BCRI). BCRI is an international consortium applying the tools of data science to increase understanding of conflict dynamics and conflict risk mitigation. His focus is on fragile and conflict-affected contexts, including questions of management and leadership; project-level risk assessment and risk management; international policy; and the role of neutrals. Among numerous publications, he is co-author of Business and Conflict in Fragile States: The Case for Pragmatic Solutions and Management in Complex Environments: Questions for Leaders.
